newsletter…

{my final sketch of ferry - I had gone through sketch after sketch of the sails, until I asked the Boy what he thought & he asked for my sketch book and said why don't you try this - I was making it more complicated than it needed to be.}

My plans for the newsletter is to make it sort of a behind the scenes type of thing. Time-lapse photos of me painting. {if anyone has any tips I'd love them} Preliminary sketches as well as updates about shows. I have one lined up for next fall in New York City. {I don't have the dates yet - but if you sign up for the newsletter you'll totally find out. {you can sign up on the bottom of the page - here}

I have really enjoyed growing here. Thank you for being a safe place to that, for letting me grow. When I started this blog I wanted to find my voice. I wanted to become a painter and I am proud to say I can say I am a painter. The goal now is to make a living at it. I love that I am going to get that opportunity.

Thank you for all the support and friendships.

Melissa over at Melissa Loves asked me a couple of questions about my thoughts on Ferry. Her Friday round-ups are so lovely.

I'll probably be popping back in here with some photos of my folks lovely holiday home. And after that…well its almost the new year, so its wide open. I look forward to what is to come.

I think one of the most amazing things about the internet is the collaborations.

Three of my favorites:

A realitively new one, but oh so lovely.
shanna & betsy = hello handmade

A pause in the day, a deep breath.
mav & stephanie = 3191

poetry come to life
shari & sheri = joy+ride

I will be in this space until the end of the year. Then it is time for me to sign off.
I'll be talking about my plans for the newsletter later.

A couple beautiful artists I've seen on the internet.

Kim Kimbro is also an artist at Cella Gallery and her work is dreamy and lovely.
I have seen her pieces in person and the internet does not do her justice.
She has a solo show at Lawrence Asher Gallery right now.

I am a fan of Oliver Jeffers work ever since the did the book.
I didn't realize that he has illustrated a couple of childrens books as well.
Thank goodness for the little one. It is such a great excuse to get beautiful children's books.

I found out through drawn that Studio aka adapated the book into a movie.
{I wonder when we'll be able to see it on this side of the pond}

I am coming out from a month of being sick…guess my painting schedule took more out of me than I realized.
Idea's are still popping around for new paintings. I can start painting now for a show in New York fall 2009.

I am not sure how much longer I will be in this space. It has been really hard for me to blog ever since I got pregnant and my time can be better spent hanging out with my little boy and making art. I am going to start sending out newsletters, so if you'd like to keep up with what I am up to, you can sign up on the main page of my artsite. I'll be here for sure until the new year. Thanks for coming along for the ride. It's been fun.
