tangible
My parents made an unexpected trip down this past weekend…a visit to drop off some furniture.
One piece that I have loved since I was a child.
A McDougall kitchen cabinet.
Oh how I love you bread drawer,
you built in flour sifter,
you pull out enamel kneading table,
and you roll down storage area…

The cabinet has so many lovely small details. Wire baskets, spice containers, the hardware. I love the utilitarian-ness of it all. It just functions so well even after 100 years. It is wild to think that I have something in my house over 100 years old. A real and tangible piece of history.
{the crane is for a project I am flirting with right now…}

That cabinet looks like it would be fantastic to work on. It reminds me of the one that Almanzo built for Laura in The First Four Years.

Amazing! I love all of the not-so-hidden features.
I’ve just started folding paper cranes as well, for wedding decorations.
