friday painting #39

maine coast
20" x 10"
This week is tototally different. I wanted to try for moody. Inspired by photos of what I think of as maria's beach.
Sarah found some old polyurethane that is thick and amber colored, so I experimented with this painting.
It was super thick and syrupy.
It changed my colors, below is the before shot, above is right after the polyurethane was applied.

I recently discovered your blog via Lisa S. You artwork is really love, as is your photography. I love both versions of the painting, very serene and calm. But, I must say your “working” artist’s shoes (if that is what they are) are adorable. I think I may have to go splatter some paint on mine today.

maditi - the polyurethane is pretty awesome stuff…especially when it is old.
