friday painting #43

lilya & siam
24" x 36"
Close up of the girl and an elephant's eye.
::a moment…
A boy was sitting on the subway next to his father talking about halloween, his costume, and his grand plans for the day. His excitment was pulsing, he was literally wiggling around. His words came out like the mouth of a bottleneck, his excitment tumbling and rushing over each other until he got to the culmination of his excitment - mucho y mucho candy…
::

My first cd from Ky's cd swap came and I can't even begin to say what an amazing job Leslie did. The packaging…the songs…and the sweet note on the outside - 'handle with a whole bunch of care'. Thank you Leslie.
Have a great weekend.

This is a gorgeous painting. Is it oil? I love the rusty tones in the elephants ear and trunk and the red/white striped background adds so much depth.

love the painting, wendy. i’m a big sucker for circus tents {a little known fact}…i think the wording on your lovely mail pretty much sums it up for so many of our friends in craftwonderland this week: handle with a whole bunch of care. indeed.

Yes, Dayan, you’re right, but I can’t just go around claiming ALL of the paintings. Wenders - it’s FABULOUS. Now I’ll be sharing all my favorite books for you to read!

martha - thank you for you kind words and stopping by!
(paint is actually acrylic)
dayan - I do realize…I think I might have to live with it for a bit…maybe we can work out a rotating painting…like getting flowers delivered.
michelle - so glad you like it & I figured you would appreciate that moment, since you have a little wiggler of your own
abee - thank you…when are you coming by for lunch?
(who knew that elephants had such long eyelashes?! - did some research for that info)
lisa s - so great to make you sigh!!!
& your pic of lists…I LOVE lists
shanna - I don’t think I ever really went to the circus when I was a kid, but something about it slays me.
I totally agree about the wording on the package!
rene - bring the books on…I’ll be there soon enough
maditi - thank you millions
blair - I think she is not as sad as the other girls, maybe because she is riding on an elephant!
johanna - got me a little quin gold love!
daphne - I love that idea…that it is an alive painting…thank you
victoriaE - thanks for stopping by…it is pretty cool to get to 43, especially when I see where I started!
lisa - thank you, how is life without mac?
ky - cuteness…your husband’s eyelashes must get in the way though if they are that long, he could give you butterfly kisses across the room.
gracia - love that idea of elephants & cds becoming a twosome
louise - totally my pleasure
