painting for friday #29
There is a lot of stuff around a painting studio…and 20 years of accumlation is pretty huge. I happened upon some small squares of cardboard (about 4"x5") about a month ago and I have been trying to figure out ways to use it ever since. And this week I figured it out. Quick brush drawings…with a little color to workout superhero poses for Zephyr. I think a trip to the comic store is in order for the weekend.
Now Storyteller (my new name for one half of the la power couple) I need some info. Her power?
The Boy thinks speed…

The images above are rather still…and under attack below.

love that first one…. it’s like she’s in a super scarf!
i say her power is that she can jump really really really high….

I think she’s a third generation speedster - Her grandmother was WWII hero “Madam Rush”, while her Mother lived in reverse, switching from a costumed everyday life to her secret identity as the cats-eye glass wearing librarian known as “P.D.Q”
Zephyr longs for a superpower to call her own. Spends a lot of time online researching the latest innovations in super-power innovation so that she can eventually gain a “new” superpower and set herself apart from the family legacy.
Her father Erasmus is a non-powered mechanic of Greek descent - who builds sad robots - including Malcolm, who has grown up with Zephyr as her de-facto “sibling”.
Her full name is Zephyr Letitia Ophelia Chascarillo Ramirez Diotrephes.

Please ignore the repetition of the word “innovation” in paragraph 2 as that exactly tracks the moment of interruption (by phone) of a certain uppity artist type from New York who wished to speak to my wife.
