…traveling with your goat…

emma.jpg
The days when traveling meant just you and your goat going to the next village.

Actually this is something I painted a while ago (obviously since I am posting so fast). I haven’t participated in Illustration Friday in a couple of weeks, so I thought I’d post this while my computer is down during the move.
I really love the idea of bonding with animals. I guess it goes back to my days of imagining as a child, that some magical animal would come and take me away from it all. Let me know what you think…

Have you heard of the traveling photo exhibit by Gregory Colbert that deals with humans and animals? The official site is http://www.ashesandsnow.org/

This is pure loveliness! I love the colors and the expression on the goat’s face and the curve of the girl’s arm.

I used to have a pet goat when I was a child and I loved him so. This makes the little girl inside jump for joy! Thank you! Thank you!

Our goat was a potbellied pygmie named Bubbles. This is such a cute illustration! My dad spoiled that goat rotten. Did yours have weird eyes like ours ?

What a lovely painting, so soft and nice colours. I absolutely agree with you and your thoughts from the childhood. It is funny that you chosen a goat, a kid was the No 1 on my wishlist for many years…

Very nice! I liked the way you chose the goat as a focal point. The closeness gives it an intimate feel that lets us infer a lot about the kind of day it was, the mood, etc..

Very soft, as said. I like the goat looking not directly at me, but not profiled either. Interesting. And no leash.. just love.

I like the fact that although the colors are bold, they look very soft. The small cutaway scene makes me curious to see more. Plus the goat is pretty keen.

Thank you everyone for the great comments! I really appreciate it. The move is super hard, but I am getting rid of tons of junk. It really made my day to see all the comments.
