hir·sute (hûrst, hîr-, hr-st)
covered with hair; hairy.
The first thing I thought of for this word was a bear…but my first sketches were of a polar bear. Like the polar bear in the fairy tale east of the sun, west of the moon {you can see some great polar bears here…with lights no less!}
after the dancing bear I did for the circus series it was settled in my mind that I would do a circus bear instead.
don't forget to tell all your friends about the sweets party on june 11th!

Covered with hair, hairy..that’s so funny. Love the word, love the painting. He looks so crabby, and yet he has that circus suit on…poor guy.

I agree with johanna, he really does look cranky. sort of like a little boy forced to wear a suit for a formal event. then again maybe he LIKES the pink collar and is telling the naysayers to be quiet…either way I love him

i like the pink tutu-esque thing - it’s so funny as he’s trying to be so mean.
