working on

Here are some sketches for a little sleep series for the Charming Wall show in March.

the birds will go in her clouds below

I am thinking to keep this series up for a bit.

I have been preping a lot of canvases, so I should be pretty productive this weekend & I have a bunch of color ideas {blue & green for the girl above. that or the grey & yellow - any thoughts?}:
grey & yellow
red & orange
brown & red
blue & green
blue & yellow
yellow & green
red & yellow
dark blue & white
purple & green
blue & brown

a huge thanks to Holly for her wonderful write-up about Johanna and for including me in it.
have a great weekend.

    i love your idea
    of
    grey and yellow.
    something
    about the
    feelings
    they conjure…
    can’t wait
    to see how
    those
    amazing birds
    work their
    way into the piece.
    a lovely

I love the feel of your work,

I think telling stories in you work opens

it up even more. The last pic. reminds me

of my seven year old daughter when she’s

thinking of a new song! I like grey and yellow

    seems mellow

  11. jenifer Says:

looking very forward to seeing the painting. i love the birds, naturally :)

  12. Hannah Says:

I think that maybe the background should be greys or neutral, and the girl should be brightly coloured, daydreaming about the brightly coloured birds. That way the colours kind of capture that wistful expression on her face. I liked the birds in and outside of the clouds, sitting wherever they like!

  13. Paul Pincus Says:

I love this. I like Grey and Yellow…or Blue and Brown.

    Cheers!
