on the road…
Aiko and I drove the whole way (from San Francisco to Portland, Or) in one day…well Aiko drove and I sat.
I was surprised how quickly it happened.
How time just seems to be flexible.
We talked for hours (literally) but it felt like the drive was over in no time at all.
It is amazing how friends can enhance time, and since she is one of the most amazing people I know time just glides.
On the road there were lots of trees, lots of trucks and lots of trucks carrying trees.

And when we finally got to Portland, we arrived at Johanna's new house.
More about Portland tomorrow…its like a get to live my escape all over again.
Here is a mailbox to no one. The mailbox was for an empty lot…go figure

I done the same drive in a day (I am guessing you took Hwy 1?) it’s long, but spectacular and worth it! The best part was this curious little museum of oddities, in a ship, on the CA/OR border ~Shona

a mailbox to no one…been thinking about this one, wondering what its story is - what treasures it has held, words of triumph, words of tragedy….hmmmmm….

Like the idea of that letterbox awaiting an owner… were you tempted to open it up to see what was inside? A mouse reading miniature mail… or letters addressed to the empty lot…
Looking forward to the next instalment… gracia

shona - we didn’t take hwy 1, but 5, so not as beautiful…more time for talking, less looking around.
shari - I have been itching for a trip, so it came at a perfect time
ky - I wonder to - it has such character
janel - did a follow up post today - loved it, still a little confused by the city
johanna - the signs scary, and it didn’t seem like the area for the runaway trucks was very long
michelle - thank you
lisa - totally a stoppage of time…I love that about our friendship
gracia - I wasn’t tempted to open it, but now I am..what a lovely imagination you have!
maria - I needed that drive, that time away, that connection with old friends
tiffany - you live in beautiful country…a foreign country!!
louise - glad you were able to take a little ‘trip’ too!
