I like to ease on in, but fairly quickly. If it's cold enough, I swim like crazy once I'm in to stay warm!

The Boy's Brother and I had lots of fun with you guys this past weekend!!! I hope you did too!! I, as you may remember, am an incher. The pool is perfect when it's 86-88 degrees. You can walk/jump right in, but it's still refreshing. ... I vote for Wendy's questions... it should be in the contents on your web page!! :)

I can not swim in cold water, I have lived on the Gulf of Mexico my whole life (27 years) and I don't even get in the Gulf untill the middle of July when the temps hir the high 80's. I love the Gulf, but only when it is flat, I hate to wrestle with waves, I'm a float kinda gal. That is why I love to swim in a pool, it's always calm, and by the way I inch in ever so slowly!!

I will never, ever pine for chilly waters that turn my lips blue, but that is because I have lived on the Gulf Coast for 20 years! I do think it must be hard to get used to our warm waters if you're not from here, but for me it's the reverse. I would try swimming in New England or elsewhere, but I don't think I'd like it, LOL.

Oh, and I love the Wendy's Questions idea!

i think you should start a series -- Wendy's Questions. i love it when you ask them and i am particularly pumped about this topic. i just adore swimming.
that said, i don't care for pools. i'll hit them if i have to but here is what i am all about --

- if i am alone i jump right in. if i am with someone {particularly R who is a real wimp when it comes to cold water} i inch in until just above the waist and then dive in.
- i can do any water temp. i am from the midwest where i used to swim in lake michigan. the temps there were warm but not quite bath water! :) i LOVE waves!!
- since moving to maine i have decided that swimming in the ocean is the closest thing to heaven. the saltwater and crisp temps make me feel so alive. i also love fresh water lakes & ponds where the temps are more manageable and they are SO clean.
- the reason why pools are not my favorite is because the water doesn't seem real. i know that is odd but i think it's the smell. i feel like water that is swim in should have some kind of sea smell or almost a dirt or air smell. i think the clorine is the turn off for me. i guess i also don't have access to tons of pools either!

wow. long comment. probably my longest ever!
:) great questions, mav
